Generic Type:
Columns with the Generic Type are jack-of-all-trades types. They take text and numbers just like in Excel but they also have a special secret.
If you type an equal sign (‘=’) into these fields, you can also create formulas!
These formulas can do things like automatically calculate your client’s price, make it easier for you to manage your project budget, and more!

Want to create a formula? We have a whole blog dedicated to that.

Some questions in life only have a few correct answers. For those moments in Fohlio, we have List type columns.
On your Project Sheet they’ll look like this:

If you click into the field, Fohlio gives you a menu of options. When it comes to Submittal Action for this project, the product can only be Approved, Approved as Noted, Revise & Resubmit and Rejected, That’s it.
When you create a List type column, you’ll see a menu like this:

Add just the options you want displayed and you’re off.
You can always go back and change the options that are displayed through Column Settings.
Notes:
-You can add Auto-Highlight and add certain color to each selection, this super helpful in case of Status column you can add more visual indicator
-Adjusting options on this list will affect all projects, Such as deleting an option will remove that selection across all project, or re-write the option also affect all places this option is selected

Need to share documents with your team? Need to let them know to look for them? Want to add a note for each document to contextualize it?
Done and done!

Multi-Select Type:
Multi-Select Type:
Just like the List type, you can decide what information gets filled in.
Like my example below: I want to know if my products are IgCC, ASHRAE, or Passive House compliant.

And some of them comply with more than one.
So Fohlio gives you the power to select more than one.
-
Assignee Type:
Assignee Type:
Is the next step on a product in a specific team member’s hands?
An Assignee column type lets you select who on your team needs to take that step.
When you’re creating the column, decide who can be selected by their user roles:

Remember, you can decide on your user roles by going through your Settings tab on the left.

Based on your need those columns type should cover all expected cases,
Thing to note is that Column type can't be changed after creation so make sure to select the correct one,
In general we recommend using our Default columns provided that show up when searching for columns as they cover All needs.
