Setting up Dashboard, Phases and Columns

Set up Dashboards and Phases quickly by adapting Fohlio to your business needs. Increase company and project visibility, and save time.

Dashboards and phases help teams structure their Project Sheets based on workflows such as specification, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, or client approvals.

For example, the Interior Designer Dashboard can have tabs such as Product Specification and Approvals which contain columns needed for the design team, and on the other hand, the Procurement Dashboard can have tabs like Purchase Order and Order Tracking that contain columns important to the procurement team.

🧭 Understanding Phases and Dashboards

Before configuring dashboards, it’s important to understand the relationship between phases and dashboards.

1️⃣ What Is a Phase?

A phase is a set of columns grouped together for a specific workflow or process.

For example:

  • Product Specification → specification-related columns
  • Procurement → supplier and pricing columns
  • Estimation → estimation-related columns

Each phase can contain different columns depending on the information you need to work with.

2️⃣ What Is a Dashboard?

A dashboard is a collection of phases grouped together.

For example, a Design Dashboard might contain:

  • Product Specification
  • Procurement
  • Estimation
  • Budgeting
  • Client Approval
  • Schedule

Users can switch between dashboards using the dashboard dropdown.

📦 Column Properties

Fohlio columns can use different property types:

Product Info

  • Same value across all projects for the same item
  • Common for specifications like dimensions, materials, or model numbers

Cost/Price

  • Pricing-related fields
  • Used in calculations, budgeting, and financial reports

Project Management

  • Values can vary between projects
  • Common for statuses, approvals, or installation tracking

Pro tip 💡: Choosing the correct column property is important because it affects how data behaves across projects.
